I have downloaded and installed the videostudio 11.5 plus trial version. everything went smoothly and I was running a one step DV -> DVD when my system rebooted unexpectedly (Power cable got hit by mistake). When my system came back, all applications run OK except now I cannot even start video studio. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times but no luck.
When I ran the first couple times, a splash screen came up. Now, all I get is an hourglass for a second and then nothing. I have tried looking at applications running with the task bar, and I don't see videostudio at all, even momentarily.
I liked the little bit that I used of video studio and would likely buy it, except I am concerned that I will not even be able to run and get the splash screen to enter my activation number.
I am running windows XP (32 bit)
Intel 6550
2 GB
ASUS MB P5E-VM HDMI (on board graphics)

First, try a "System Restore" to a point before the crash and see how that goes.
Failing that do a search of this forum for "Clean uninstall." Follow those instructions as closely as you can then re-install.
See how that goes.
Finally, DO NOT activate the trial version of VS.
If you do decide to buy it fully uninstall the trial then download the latest full version or get the installation discs.

moving back to a restore point solved the problem
Thank you for the idea. I used a restore point from the day before I installed VS and I was able to re-install and run the trial version. I will run it through a few tests and see how it works.
Thanks again
