No audio feedback when creating DVD (files that supports AC3

Post by yuyu »

hi all
I use MF3
when I try to create a DVD from an AVI file that support an AC3 audio I ends up with a visual DVD with no sound

so I extracted the Adio streem from the file using 'VirtualDubMod' to a MP3 format

in MF3 I entered the Enhance Video option
choose the Audio tab, added the MP3 audio file & silenced the Original Audio

when I tried to Burn the DVD I got the following error:
Convert step got problems (4709)
Unspecified error report ID: 0x80041265 (4709)

what is the problem now ?

Instead of exporting the audio as mp3 try exporting the audio
as 16bit 48khz stereo pcm (wav format).

There was a bug in MF3 with adding audio like your doing.
That bug was fixed in one of the latest updates to the program
available at the ulead website (free updates to MF3).

Hope this helps,

I tried,

I extracted the Adio streem from the file using 'VirtualDubMod' to a MP3 format
converted it into a 16bit 48khz stereo pcm (wav format) using Audacity tool
I also installed the patch that supposed to fix the audio problem

in MF3 I entered the Enhance Video option
choose the Audio tab, added the MP3 audio file & silenced the Original Audio

when I tried to Burn the DVD I got the following error:
Convert step got problems (4709)
Unspecified error report ID: 0x80041265 (4709)

what can I do now ?

Hi,
You said you imported the Mp3 audio file. You mean the new wav audio
file correct? I hope so.

Seems like the original audio in the original mpeg file may be the
cause of this. Even though you are setting it's volume to 0 or none.

With the latest updates to MF3 installed can you separate the original
video and audio streams using another program?
That would result in a m2v or mpv and the audio file being seperate.
That is called "Elementary Streams"
With the video file you can then import it into MF3 without any audio.
You may have to rename the file from m2v to mpv so MF3 will
recognize the extension. Many files name the video elementary stream
as m2v.

Worth a try, just curious, what is the original video from?
A ripped dvd or other type program?
Usually these type of programs are hard to re-encode because of the
ripping method and compression used.

Hope this helps,

maddrummer3301 you are my hero

Tried twice and it works
Using the EOvideo tool I separated 2 files
1 video only no audio
2 audio only no video

Then using MF3 I selected the video only file, and in the Audio tab I silenced the Original Audio and selected the audio file as a secondary stream

It burn the file with audio just fine

It was a long fight and I feel I won a battle, beat the system
yehhhhhh
