MF5 hangs after HDV capture
MF5 captures my Sony Hc5 miniDV video and recognizes the input as Sony HDV. But after capture when I press the OK button, MF5 freezes and has to be killed via task manager. The dmf file is there, so there are ways around this issue. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks as always.
MF2, MF3, MF4, MF5, VS7, VS10+, VS12, Nero Vision Express. Ricoh and Sony 16x DVD recorder, Sony HC5 High def camera. Also Canopus ADVC110 for AV/DV input through firewire
Are you letting the tape run into the complete end (the un-recorded blank section of the tape? )
Does this occur if using a timed recording, such as a 3 or 5 minute recording.
I think it's best not to have the capturing process go into any un-recorded sections of the tape (blank spots)
Hard to say, but yes I have encountered this before with MF5.
You also don't mention whether your capturing standard DV or HDV (High Definition), I'm assuming you were capturing HDV (High Def).
As aa troubleshooting method I would put the cam into internal down convert (HDV->DV) and capture standard DV to see if you have the same results.
