Vista Patch for UMSP 6 or 8? Urgent!

Post by Timeship »

PLEASE READ MY LETTER TO COREL and let me know if there is any solution:

Hi, we make music videos with Ulead MediaStudio Pro since 2.5 was out on the market (around 1996). Until recently we worked on 6.0 with XP, but as soon as we purchased a new HP Media Pavilion PC, it came with Vista preinstalled, and none of our Ulead packages work on it. XP was fine, but it cannot be installed on the new computers, whose chipsets are designed to work ONLY on Vista. Our HP editing systems are now 10x faster than our XP machives, but... neither 6.0 nor 8.0 Pro work on Vista!

Of course, we purchased anything you offer for Vista, like Ulead VideoStudio 11+, but it is not as accurate and professional in terms of editing (no multi-channel audio/video/titles mixing, etc.). It's more for home videos. Besides, its UVS11_Plus_ESD_ENG_PowerPack cannot even find our VS11+ installation, even though the UVS11_Patch_Eng122507-03 finds it and installs correctly. What's the problem there?

PLEASE ADVISE!

We do not want to switch on to Adobe Premiere just because they support Vista!

Let me know ASAP if there is any Patch to make at least ver. 6 or 8 to work on Vista.

What chipsets does this new HP computer contain?

Chipsets?
The only problem I am aware of with installing XP on a brand new machine is finding drivers - is this what you mean?

No, the other way around. The reference was to the practice of manufacturers selling new "Vista Capable" laptop computers with graphics chipsets that were marginal even under XP. That must not be seen as a problem on these forums.
