VS11.5: how to rotate and move an image?

Post by krevet »

Hello!

I want to create a double motion rotation effect: it would start with two pictures
- sized 150%
- inclined +/- 35 deg
- one in right bottom corner, one in left bottom corner.

It would end with the pictures
- sized 100%
- tild back to normal portrait position
- one in right bottom corner, one in left bottom corner.

A lot like the Persuaders'opening [Moore/ Curtis TV show in the 70's].

Any tricks? I can move but not rotate. So far, I've hand made an movie: 72 frames in jpg format (2 pictures x 36 frames, each frame being cut/paste + rotating of a few deg.) Looks ok, but really time consuming if I need to change the original picture...)

Hello Trevor!

yes I do. I have a background color (black) in the main track. Then I put picture1 in track 2, and picture 2 in track 3. But I can't find out how to proceed. The rotation is only +/- 90 deg. Or did I miss some options? How do I tell VS to rotate -35 deg?
Thanks

Hi

Sorry just read your original post

VS will NOT rotate your image through 35 deg. (at least I dint think it will)

I think this will work, I just don¡¦t know how to explain.

There is an option to Fade in /out and Rotate the images. By rotate I assumed you meant spin.
This is similar to using a transition effect.
Apply the (rotate before pause duration) (In the Attributes tab click the left triangle below the Direction and Style options.)

The blue bar below the preview screen is the pause duration, drag these together (no pause) to the far right hand side.

Advance the image frame by one frame, (00:00:00:01) the image will rotate by about 30deg.
Switch to project playback and take a screen shot Tools ¡¥Save current frame as image¡¦
Place this image in the overlay track immediately before the first image. Overlap the two images by one frame.
The lower image will hide the first frame of the upper image.

Play the project and the image will start on a slant and end upright.

Take a further screen shot of the last frame and add to the end.

Making your images increase in size may be a little difficult.
You may be able to use the ¡¥crop¡¦ filter but this crops the image, it does not increase the frame size. But I will give it some thought.
