I have a photo shop file (psd format) that I would like to open in PSPX2 with all the layers intact. When I open it I get this message: "this PSD file contains unsupported features". If I continue, the file is merged into 1 layer.
Does anyone know how I can edit the individual layers in PSP?

Re: Opening a Photo Shop (psd) file in PSPX2
PSP can only open layers from PSD files that can be supported by PSP. Various layer styles from PS are not supported by PSP so naturally PSP cannot open those layers. It sounds like the image you have consists of those kinds of layers, so you won't be able to see them in PSP.woodchuck wrote:I have a photo shop file (psd format) that I would like to open in PSPX2 with all the layers intact. Two points:sjj1805 wrote:I just opened a PSD image with layers in PSP X2
1) The images are too small for me to read everything in the graphic program windows, but the main difference I see is that the image is highly saturated in the Photoshop screenshop. That would indicate to me either that you have different color management enabled in PS than you do in PSP, or a layer that created the saturation that's visible in PS isn't being read in PSP, or you have some layer not visible in one of the programs that is visible in the other and that is responsible for the saturation difference.
2) You can open PSD images with layers in PSP. You just can't see the layers that PSP doesn't support.

OK, I can see them bettersjj1805 wrote:Oh, Here's some larger ones then.
Again, my points in my previous post apply. The only difference between the posted images is the extra saturation in the PS screenshot, and I suspect it's because of the color management settings.
And, again, being able to open a PSD layered image in PSP and work with the layers is a feature that works with PSP. The original poster's problem is likely as I stated - the image he was working with had layers not supported by PSP and its tools, so they weren't shown. You likely have an image that doesn't have those specialized layers.

Ask whomever you got the .psd from to save it as a version 5.5 (I think) or earlier file.woodchuck wrote:I have a photo shop file (psd format) that I would like to open in PSPX2 with all the layers intact.
