I received a gift of an Insignia NS-8V24 MP3 / MP4 player and it is one impressive little piece of hardware. 2.4" LCD, 320x240 MP4 video playback and a user replaceable LI-ION battery.
It compares very well to the iPod Nano that has a 2" LCD and 320x240 capability, which I ended up taking back to the store because the controls were simply too difficult and sensitive for my stubby little fingers.
All is well, except, I'm unhappy with the video quality of converted files when using the included Arcsoft Media Converter 2 software, which is limited to a maximum bit rate of 512 kbps, which seems to make the video blotchy and grainy.
So, I am looking to my tried and true Video Studio 10 application and trying to find a way to use IT to convert video files into a 320x240 MP4 format hoping the quality will indeed be superior.
But the process is not obvious to me and I would like to request some help in learning just how to make this conversion happen so that the resulting output file is in a format that I can successfully play on that otherwise wonderful Insignia player.
I mean, for $99, the device was a heck of a fantastic deal, and I'd like very much to make use of it, but I simply need help in figuring out how to get my VS 10 program to be the solution.
I look forward to any helpful insight, instructions or solutions that any of you may provide.
Thank you

Using Video Studio 10, with your source video file in the top timeline.
Share--Create Video File
Choose one of the Mpeg4 templates,
MPEG-4 iPod
or
MPEG-4 PDA/PMP
Seem to support the frame size you indicated.
I have not used these templates and cannot comment on quality, but a lot depends on your source material.
