I've created many DVD's using DVD MF6 and I beleive nothing has been altered on my PC or config. I captured some video from my DV cam to AVI format as always. Imported into DVD MF, edited, created the DVD. When I playback, audio is very poor. Seems overmodulated. Go back and play the original AVI files using Windows Media Player and quality is good. I've burned 5-6 DVD's even reimporting the clips, using Dolby and MPEG audio formats, using dual pass for better quality and not converting MPEG compliant files. Still same problem. Very strange. Any idea where to start troubleshooting?
Thanks
Poor audio on DVD when using AVI source

What happens when you play the clips in MF, before any editing?

If I play the clip using Windows Media player, perfect sound.
If I play the clip in MF after importing the clip te sound is perfect.
It's only after MF generates the .iso file and thus has performed it's MPEG compression that the audio problem occurs.
It's like the sound is over modulated. The drum beats have a static quality and the vocals are a bit over modulated.
The entire quality of audio is significantly reduced.
I've tried pulling in the clip, only saving the first 30 seconds or so and creating an .iso just to see if something in my 1+ hour compliation is creating a problem. Even with the short clip same issue after burning to DVD.
I've selected Dolby sound as well as mpeg sound formats. Same.
This is VERY frustrating. A full near 2 hour video of a very important dance show that I need to turn to DVD and I can't due to sound issues!
