As I just said in my reply to your private message to me, none of us here work for Corel/Ulead. We are all volunteers and otherwise ordinary users of the various products made by Ulead/Corel. So we have no inside information. Like everyong else, we know they are working on a new version of Video Studio, and presumably the other programs -- apart from Media Studio Pro and DVD Workshop, which they apparently intend to drop. But this information has been discussed at length for a long time on the various forums, so it is nothing new.

I have read on another forum (sorry cannot remember which one) that Corel 12 is now out in the Far East.(possibly Japan)
No further information.

No, it was all in Japanese. But it seems it was an announcement that it was going to be released, not that it *was* released.

Might be that the original version is Japanese one and Corel simply decided not to synchronize the release of all language versions.
Or additional language versions will be supported at the release time, and more time is needed for translation.
Or it has something to do with the fact that VS has, afaik, great share of the Japanese video-editing market and Corel wants to release asap to hold the lead.
Anyway, inaccessibility of upgrade to VS11 on Corel pages (someone pointed to this on the forums) indicate "imminent" release, as Corel does not want to handle unclear situations where customer upgraded to VS 11 just before vs12 release (newbuyers get then the new version for free).

if anybody has a crystal ball of exactly 138 mm diameter, I may be able to sell them interface which will allow them to answer the OP's question.

Oh, by the way, it would be very helpful to answer questions from people who have never read the READ THIS BEFORE POSTING... thread, into the bargain.

That is the only possibility. Ulead, which originally made the software, is (or was) Taiwanese. Corel is Canadian. No obvious Japanese connection. If anything, one would think the first release would be in Taiwan or Canada/North America...

I am also surprised that we have not got any feedback at all from Japanese users who speak English, or even by word of mouth from people with Japanese friends or who are resident in Japan. Not a word, which is a little strange. Not even a press release from Corel saying how well it has been received in Japan... :?:
