Just bought the upgrade to Video Studio 11 Plus from 10 Plus

Post by helifaxnz »

It allows me to download the program, but isn't there meant to be a content pack that goes with it?

I found after installing the application that I couldn't use SmartSound (via the Auto Music). It was greyed out and I couldn't click on anything to enable me to use it.

Has anyone had this issue on the upgrade version of 11 Plus?

You should have received three links in your email. Read it carefully again to make sure they are, or are not, there. The first is to the main installation program, which you obviously have. The second is Extra_Content, containing important things like templates and sample files etc. I think it also contains the SmartSound files. And the third contains Bonus_Features not essential for the smooth operation of VS11.

If you don't have three links, then go back to Corel and ask for the extra ones.

Once you have the whole thing installed, then go to the Ulead site and register it. Then go to the Download button across the top and navigate to Updates for VS11. Start at the bottom with the update patch of 6 November 2007. Install that. Then install the second one dated 8 November 2007 and called the Power Pack. This is only available to *registered* users of VS11+, so that is why I said to be sure to register first. This will in fact update your VS to VS11.5+. If you click on ? > About Ulead Video Studio, your version number should now read 11.5.-157.2 Plus.

Do NOT download the so called 'Hot Pack'. It sounds as though you did not have the problem installing VS11 that is described in the notes to that patch.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I definately didn't get the two other e-mails so will check up with Corel.

Cheers.

Well in the end I reinstalled Windows XP and installed VS and worked perfectly. A bit drastic, but if you need to get the software going I guess you have to do things like this! :D
