VS 11.5 - Quick rendering of HDV files

I have recently purchased a canon HF100 and started editing the AVCHD video in VS11.5 Plus. The smart proxy works fine for editing - but when I come to create a disc I want to create a quick DVD so I can check all the menus / titling before then comitting to burn a High Def version. What is the quickest way to do this ? Can I essentially use the smart proxy file format and get a really quick "rush" render ?
