No audio in uploaded clips VS11+

Post by smooshi »

Hi - thanks for help in advance.

I've just upgraded from Video studio 10 to 11+. When I import an dvd clip into library or time frame. It works with no audio attached- however it was perfectly fine on 10. i've tried uninstalling it an reinstalling it.
Now i cant get 10 to upload any clips.

Anyone got any ideas? :(

Cheers!! :D

Have you tried the same DVD that was working before? ...Maybe it's a particular DVD that's causing the trouble????

For a "workaround", I've seen programs that can "rip" the audio from a DVD. If you can use another program to get the audio into a WAV file, you can use that WAV file in your project. You'd have to search for the audio ripper - I don't have one so I can't recommend one.

(I've done something similar to this, but I've been able to use Video Studio to split-off the audio to a WAV file... So I haven't needed a DVD-audio ripper...)

Hi -

Its fine on regular dvds but its Dvd RW that has no audio sound when transfered, and thats what i'll be working with to transfer dvd to the pc.

Can you recommend any programmes that can convert dvd to mpeg or avi? That maybe my best option.

Cheers for the advice :)

If you can transfer (Windows Copy command) to your hard disk, you could try importing from there to see if that makes any difference.

If not, then simply rename the files with the .vob extension to the .mpg extension and see if that makes a difference.
