fast forward on iPod - how can i do it?

I am using VideoStudio 11.5 to capture from my Panasonic MiniDV camcorder to my HD. The files are capture on the pc as .mpg files.

When I use VideoStudio to convert them to an iPod file everything is great.

Once on the iPod I am unable to fast forward thru parts of the video.

Am I doing something wrong? Is it possible to do this with a different file format?
