Removing Time Stamp

Post by lvx2lr8 »

Hi all

I was wondering how to remove the time stamp from my video. I am not recording with one and I've used other DVD programs and the time stamp doesn't show up. I really like Ulead but I can't stand having a time stamp on my video.

Thanks for your help.

I you look in your camera manual, you will find that there is a control to switch off. This seems to only occur with Sony cameras. But I am not sure if you can remove the date stamp on video that has already been filmed... Does the time stamp appear appear on the final DVD you make, or only during editing?

Thanks, I think it's under "Sub-T Date." I've used other cameras and have never heard of that term used. It comes during editing and the final DVD.

I am pretty sure that Sub-T means 'sub-title'. And I think Sony included it since there are actually people out there who *like* having date and time embedded. (Like you, I hate it!!) A long shot -- you could try turning off subtitles on your DVD player remote...? :?: However, I don't know if the stamp behaves like normal sub-titles or is actually embedded to show all the time (so to speak... no pun intended! )

Removing the Date/Time stamp

Post by almatl »

The Date/Time Stamp is NOT embedded in the video.
Video Studio is inserting it in both the review and the final file.
My camera is Sony DVD405. Yes can probably turn off the time stamp.
However, I have been moving all my videos from the DVD to mpg files, and then reformatting the RW DVD.

I need to be able to turn off the Date/Time Stamp in the ULead Video Studio Ver 11 product.

If you do a search for "time and stamp" you will find many threads regarding this issue. This is a problem many Sony users encounter - it's not really a VideoStudio issue. Here are just a couple of threads from the search:

Removing Date/Time Stamp

Thanks for the links. However it is not just a Sony problem.
Pinnacle Studio 10 does not pick up the stamp.
Windows Movie Maker 5 does not pick up the stamp.
Only ULead Video Studio 11 picks it up but doesn't give you a switch to turn it off. I liked ULead because it was more reliable. I still like it, but now I have to re-render mpg files so there won't be a time stamp.

Would it really be that hard for ULead to give us a switch to turn it on and off.

To remove this date/time stamp you need to go into preferences->edit->video and untick the box for subtitles (as shown in the screenshot). Hope this is helpful :)
