Is there any way that you can import your own masks in the overlay/attributes section. They appear to be just .BMP files

Hi,

Sure.

Make them PNG files with transparency.

VS9 Masks

Yes thanks I can make a png file work by masking the original then the over lay. Then compositing them together. However what I am trying to do is add my own masks to the selection in mask frames - any ideas.

My project is to mask the lower third of a video over another video clip so that I can "overwrite" a previous title

Exactly the same way as you import anything else into the library panel, at the top right corner of your screen just under the "VideoStudio 9" heading is the library name (FRAME) to the right of it are two icons - the first is to arrange the thumbnails in alphabetical order the second is an opening folder - click on that and browse to where you have saved your .png image - select it and click "open" and your image will be imported to the library. from whence you can drag and drop it into the timeline as many times as you like.

VS 9 Masks again!

Thanks Briancee,

However that bit I know - I am probably not making myself clear - let's try again.

In VS9 if you drop video on the overlay track, click on attribute then Mask & Chroma Key then apply overlay options, you get a drop down with masks which is very useful except I can't seem to add my own!!

The beauty of this is you can ovelay video and mask it at the same time.

Hope this makes more sense now

Right now I understand - didn't realise you were trying to mask the overlay - don't know how to do what you want though
