Problem loading .VOB files into Video Library - VideoStudio

Post by JohnH47 »

I am able to view .VOB files in Video Studio 11.5 +, but can't load the file into the video library. It starts to load the loading graphic, gets to 10% then an error message appears suggesting the file can't be read.

Any idea how I can overvome this problem?

Welcome to the forums.

The only version which could read and directly insert .vob files was VS10. VS11/11.5+ cannot do -- though I don't really know why they dropped support for it.However, with VS 11/11.5, if you have the original DVD with the .vob file on it, or have copied it to your hard disk, then use the Insert DVD/DVD-VR command (right clicking in the timeline or in the library window) and navigate to the DVD drive or folder on your hard disk. Then follow the prompts.

And when you know what you want to import, remember to tick the little boxes to the left of each segment in the directory tree you are presented with.

Or if you want a really simple way, simply change the extension from .vob to .mpg and insert those.
