*Resolved!*After Preview, Next button does nothing - VS11.5+

first the answer! :P

Title: How to manually remove VideoStudio11
URL: http://support.corel.com/scripts/rightn ... 1182463411

follow the instructions there and you should be good to go!

and now the problem...

After building my DVD in VideoStudio 11.5Plus, I get to the screen where it allows me to preview the DVD before burning and after I click next, nothing happens. How do I burn my dvd if I can't get past this screen?

:(

Welcome to the forums!

Go to the Microsoft DirectX website and download the update patch dated March 2008. That seems to fix your particular problem. (Not: DirectX is not included in the schedule of regular Windows updates. So if you have not manually downloaded an update for DirectX in recent months, you need to do so now.)

Thanks! I'm running a clean install (it was a last ditch effort) with all the latest updates. XP Pro, SP3, and the version of directx you specified.

When I click "Share/create disc > DVD", preview works fine (although VERY VERY SLOW). Unfortunately, when I click "Next" to goto the next screen, nothing happens.

Still no change, any other suggestions? :(

In hopes of helping other folks know about a possible solution to this issue, i'll just keep posting updates on what Corel Support and I find out.

The root of the issue seems to be the fact that VideoStudio doesn't detect my DVD Recorder. If you have this issue, you may want to refer to the following link for a possible fix to your issue. I tried it myself and it didn't work so for me, there's a deeper issue. But, maybe if you have this problem, the link below can offer some slight chance of hope.

Source: Corel Customer Support ------
VideoStudio 11 may have difficulty detecting your DVD burner. Attached is the knowledge article that you can follow to resolve this issue. The steps here are still applicable with your version of VideoStudio.

Curlyman,

I have been having this same problem of not being able to get past the "Next" button (see "Create Disc shut down" topic). Have you had any success?

Yeah.. I basically followed the tech doc posted in the first part of this thread and it resolved all my issues. It seems like a sensless thing to do (considering you uninstall and re-install and it keeps doing the same thing) but, as silly as it sounds, manually un=installing and re-installing it did the trick for me. Seems it also fixed a lot of smaller bugs I was experiencing as well.

Try the link at the top of the thread and let me know how it goes. i'd be interested to see if it fixes your problem too.

Thank you Curlyman!

I followed that procedure which is just a little different from the one I had been using AND IT WORKED FOR ME TOO!

Now I think I am back in business!

Thanks again. Without this Forum I would have been dead in the water so many times.....
