I installed the new DVD Movie Factory 4 after uninstalling a working version 3. The Launcher comes up alright, I choose "Create Video DVD" and "DVD-Video". The Launcher disappears, the cursor changes to an hourglass, but nothing else happens no matter how long I wait. When I look into the Task Manager the DVDMF.exe task is listed and so is the Launcher. If I terminate the DVDMF.exe task the Launcher comes back as normal. I can start other MF 4 modules from the Launcher, but not the DVDMF.
The DVDMF does not come up even if I invoke the exe file from its directory. There must be soemthing conflicting on my home PC, but what? The software installs and runs nicely on my office PC.
Any ideas are much appreciated!

Computer specs?
what are your computer specs? processor speed, memory, OS, etc...
Instead of the launcher icon on your desktop, try going in through start/programs/..., and select the DVD Authoring through the start menu

George,
Thanks for your feedback.
I run a Pentium IV, 2.4GHZ, 512MB RAM, XP Pro with SP2 and all other to me applicable MS updates; I use an Asus 9600SE 128MB graphic card in dual screen configuration; run the March update for ATI Catalyst Radeon drivers; when I re-install MF3 it works ok again;
Tried in vain to invoke the DVD Authoring through the Start Menu. It has the same effect: DMDF.exe in the Task Manager and nothing else on the screen; everything else works without a hitch except lately I have no picture on certain *wmv files (just sound).

MF 4 Does not come up
Thought I'd share this as we have the same prob. Upgraded from MF3 (hav prog Disk), but can't get into MF 4 (downloaded). Menu comes up but everthing stops when I choose create DVD. Tried uninstall 3 and 4. Upgrade instructions seem non existent. Are we supposed to take out 3 before 4 or just the old player referred to in 3.5? How does one get to the old player? Very disapointing as 3 works well for me. I have 1000 hrz win 98 se with 256 mb ram. Has anyone got the answer?
