3D Moving path photos in Multi Pictures Slide show

Post by CaptainKen2 »

I'm using MSP8 to try and reproduce the "Multi Pictures Slide show" effect used in the demo video at:
http://www.codejam.com/slideshow/index.htm

This is as far as i was able to get. Has anyone already done this and have a Smart Compositor template for it. Or could anyone please advise on settings to get the background clips transparent , etc. I'd be happy to send a word doc of each pics settings.

Note, I just uploaded my attempt to Veoh and it still says processing video, so you might have to wait a little b4 accessing my link.

From your VEOH link you are on the right track.
The one written on the other site would have taken a considerable amount of time and patience. "MemoriesOnTV" would have paid a professional to create their example as they are using it to advertise their stuff, for them it is a worthwhile investment.

All of the stuff you saw can be achieved with MediaStudio but like I said it will take a lot of time and patience.

Albert Einstein had a famous saying
"Genius is 5% inspiration and 95% perspiration."

I was quite excited when "Ulead" first introduced the smart compositor because after spending hours, days even weeks creating one of these routines, the smart compositor made them re-usable with alternative clips.
It was a very sad day when we learned that the new owners Corel have no plans to develop this mighty piece of software further.

I figured it was going to be hard.

The MemoriesOnTV "Multi Pictures Slide show" is actually just a wizard along with most of the other special effects stuff.

I'm pretty bummed about Corel/Ulead's direction as well. I was just getting comfortable with MSP8. SmartCompositor could have offered a lot more in terms of Masks and decorations, which is what a lot of the market has been offering for a while. Not to mention marketing.

I'm trying to decide between Vegas and Adobe at the moment. Adobe seems to offer a lot more then Vegas in terms of add-ins and tutorials, but there are so many different apps it seems confusing. I've read many reviews of Vegas and everyone says it's pretty challenging to learn. Have you tried either?

Aren't we all disappointed?

I have rarely used Smart Compositor. For speed (I was very pushed for time at that moment), I did use it for the title of the "My Town" entry. I find it tends to restrict creativity and, with the multi-timeline in MSP8, it is almost as fast to do ad hoc compositing, with more freedom.

I'm sorry, but I don't think this is the place to discuss the relative merits and disadvantages of competitive software: there is a risk of it being deleted and the thread locked if it advances in that direction (forum rules). I suggest you go to, e.g., http://forums.murc.ws/forumdisplay.php?f=7 which has no vested interest in any make of NLE software. However, I promise you that it could be a fierce debate as many members have some idées fixes!

Hoping one of you have a connection with the monitor (site admin) at MURC. I've tried numerous times to register as it keeps saying my email address is banned. Not sure how that could be since I've never been there. I've also tried numerous times using various email address to contact them, but I have never gotten any kind of response.

Thanks.

Did you read the following. It is from their site.
Registration and email

For people trying to register.
Due to spam and troll levels from free email accounts such as yahoo and hotmail, most if not all free email account domain names have been banned.
This is not personal.
Please use a non free email address, I do not share the email list with anyone, your email is safe.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

A number of people have sent feedback via the 'contact us' function, asking why their email is banned, yet have forgotten to actually tell me their email...

Well thank you!

I finally say their notice. IMO they should also have that link on the registration page as well as the deniel page.

Interesting they blame not responding to people because of lack of an email address, when I have provided it everyone of the dozen times I attempted to contact them.

Thank you again.
