Program vanishes at start

Post by relate2 »

I have installed the trial Movie Factory 6 and Video Studio 11. I used Movie Factory 6 it for a couple of days. I then uninstalled Video Studio 11 and now Movie Factory 6 will not work.

If I click on the Movie Factory Launcher it shows the launcher dialogue box but when I choose to start the program it just vanishes. If I try and launch the program from Start/program/Ulead DVD Moviefactory 6 it does nothing.....no dialogue box to start progam, no nothing.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing Movie Factory...no change. I tried installing Video Studio 11 again...no change.

Also when Video Studio 11 is installed it now also does the same as ovieFactory.

Something has obviously been corrupted, does anyone have any ideas?

EDIT====> I am using XP service pack 3 AMD 5600+ 2.81GHZ 2gig ram

This is only a guess, but I think there is an anti-piracy "feature" that prevents you from re-installing the trial programs. And, some shared files may have been removed when you uninstalled.

So, I'm not sure if there is any solution unless you have a different computer to try-out the trial programs.... When I had a this problem (different symptoms*) I re-formatted my hard drive and re-installed Windows... But, it was a new computer so there was nothing to loose on the hard drive.

* I got a message that said my 30 days was up (after 1 or 2 days). But, this was a while ago, and it was an older version of Movie Factory.

Thank you DVDDoug, You may be right about it being an anti-piracy thing, although if I wanted to buy the program I can't even get to anywhere I can enter a serial number if I did buy the program.

I was about to buy the program also which makes it a bummer that I have this problem.
