WinDVD 9 Plus BluRay - Digital Natural Motion - PLEASE HELP

Post by hulk2k8 »

When I use DNM on either Best Quality or Cinematic, the video and sound will get out of sync. The video will ultimately LAG behind the sound. This is during playback of regular DVDs.

How do I fix this?

Specs:
EVGA 680i SLI
Q6600 (B3) @ 3GHz
2 GB DDR2-1066
2x 150GB Raptor HDD
1x Samsung DVD+/-R
1x LG GGC-H20L DVD+/-R BD/HDDVD
2x 8800 GTX in SLI
Samsung 226BW

Just wondering - what's your cpu load during that playback? I have a dual core E2200 (2.2 at 2.86ghz) that runs about 40% on both cores... though with your system, that shouldn't be a problem.

Hello

I have the same problem. Everytime when Im watching a DVD and turn the DNM on, the video and audio are running out of sync. The video is getting always slower than the sound. The longer Im watching the worse it gets. Seems to me as DNM just slows the speed of the video down... is that the way it has to work?
If I add "PAL TruSpeed" function the sound stutters and the voices are deeper in a unnatural way.

The trialversion convinced me. I like the improvements that DNM makes to the videoquality. Without this problem I would buy the player immediately.

I would be happy if somebody can help me

Thx in advance :)

btw. CPU load is 30-60% and current drivers are used

System
WinXP SP3 32bit
GA-P35-DS3P
Core 2 Duo E6600
2 GB Ram
8800 GT
Audiotrak Prodigy HD2
X-Fi Xtreme Music

Often when I change some setting, the voice will go out of sync, but it always snaps back within a few seconds, when the next frame set is being decoded.

You have a purported fast mobo and your CPU should certainly do well, though I am surprised it is hitting 60%. My average is around 40-38% on both cores using "Best" on an SD DVD.

I would look to your sound card. Using options in there can add to the cpu load, so I would encourage not using anything like spacial sound effects or whatever. Is your output going to a 5.1 powered speaker set, or what?

I have no idea what "PAL Truespeed" is as it does not show on mine.

I watched a whole movie... I was very interested whether it gets better during the film. But it gets worse... sometimes very funny to see. Actors talking without moving theire lips, shots without aiming or recoil etc.

The CPU works at standardclock. I spend much time to adjust my system and I dont have problems with any kind of programs, games etc. so far. Dont know why the load is so high. Which size does your monitor have? Mine 22" (1680x1050). I think it could make a difference because the All2HD function scales up the video, doesnt it?

Im not using any kind of soundeffect. I always try to get the sound as natural as possible. :D Thats why Im using for movies and music such a semiprofessional soundcard like the Audiotrak Prodigy HD2. When I change to the X-Fi there is no difference... same video-lag. The output is going to a headphone. I tried a lot of different settings in graphic, sound and playeroptions. But no success.

I have no idea what "PAL Truespeed" is as it does not show on mine.
I also dont know exactly what it does but the "PAL TruSpeed" option should slows the PAL DVDs (european DVD standard) 4% down to the "true speed" theyre recorded on. I thought maybe it has an influence... unfortunately not a good

Any ideas? :?

Thanx four your answer!

Have you verified that both cores of your CPU are functioning during DVD play?

Monitor: mine is listed below. It is 28 inch and runs native at 1920 by 1200

What driver are you using?

EDIT, another thought - your mobo has built-in audio. Try using that and see if the problem persists.

EDIT EDIT: Prodigy HD2 is stereo, so when you use that you probably have to check that
1 the audio settings for that video are set to stereo (the menu of the DVD - settings or language.
2 assure that Corel Windvd9 audio tab is set to 2 speakers.
otherwise it may be doing conversions and have no place to put it.

EDIT 3: when you're using the X-Fi Xtreme Music, you'd have to carefully check the settings in the audio console.

Note - I hope you do not have both these cards and both these drivers in there at the same time.

Uninstall all audio drivers except for the one you are using.
Only have one card in there at a time, and when you enable the mobo one through the bios, NO audio cards, and only the driver for the mobo one, which is a realtek 889 I think.

Yes they do. Both cores are having a load of 30-60% during the play. You overclocked your CPU to 2x 2,86 Ghz? Maybe thats the reason. My E6600 works at 2x 2,4 ghz.
rose3 wrote:What driver are you using
The latest.
Intel Chipset 9.0.0.1008 + Intel Matrix Storage Manager 8.2.0.1001
NVIDIA 175.16
X-Fi 2.15.0006
Audiotrak HD2 0.978

So far as I know are DVDs with stereo very rare nowadays. Mostly they have 5.1. But Ive never had any problems. Players convert always to stereo when I set the output to 2 speaker or headphone.

Audio console is set to entertainment mode with no soundeffects.
rose3 wrote:I hope you do not have both these cards and both these drivers in there at the same tim
Yes I do. :D But I never had any problems with that. Everything is working fine. Its nothing special for the operating system. I simply choose the output device I want for.

Ok I will do that. But takes some time...

Ive already found some more reports about that problem. Often from users with current NVIDIA videocards. What do y have?

Thank you for your answer!!

Not really impressive releasing products with so fundamental malfunctions. The potential is there but in this status not worth to pay such a price.

It means when I activate only the onboard sound and its driver, the video and the soundsignal still playing not synchronously, when I turn DNM on.
I dont know exactly whether SPDIF works because I dont and didnt use it... I didnt have problems with it. My soundcarts have just an analog connection to a headphone amplifier and a small stereo amplifier. But by the way Im pretty sure the SPDIF output should work:D I can see the "red light" if its activated.

Sorry, my bad, I was replying to a different problem. I have no idea. You might go over to AVS forums and ask there and see if anyone has any idea. You might try OCing a bit and just see if that makes any difference. Check for other things you might have running that might interfere... dunno.....
