File Limit? & Title order

Post by kjrew »

#1 I'm making Karaoke DVDs and DVD workshop will only accept 99 files max. This only uses half of a DVD. My files average 2.3Meg each which total about 2.2Gig for 99 files. Is there any way to insert more than 99 files in the title bar?

#2 All of my files are numbered (D-001 - D-999) lowest to highest, but when I load the files in the title bar they are in decending order, (99 to 01) and the only way I can put them in acending order, (01 to 99), is to load them one at a time which takes a long time, 45 minutes or so. I tried the change title order button but it doesn't do anything. Is there another method to fix this problem?
Thanx,

1. Why don't you use the subtitle editor for the text?

2. Have you thought about naming the files from 999 to 001, instead of the other way round?

Thanx for the input Devil, but using a subtitle might not be recognized by the Karaoke player. It responds to one number only and plays that number. I see what your saying tho, like cloaking.

As for the numbering suggestion, I accidently found the fix myself. When you click on 'ADD VIDEO FILES' (on the title bar on the bottom),and the windows explorer window appears, go to the end of the files and right click, select Arrange Icons by Name and it reverses the number order! ! ! Slick huh, (LOL). . .never knew that. Just thought I'd pass that on incase some one else has the same problem. . .

Thanx again regards,

OK, in that case, I suggest you try the free trial of VideoStudio: you can put the text files in an overlay track with a transparent background. That way, you would have no limit.

Devil,
I guess I didn't make things clear. Thier not text files, thier video + audio filles, (CD+Gs) converted to MPG files. Hence, short movies about 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 minutes long. A CD+G holds 18 to 20 songs, if I could use a whole DVD it would hold about 150 to175 songs.

Don't get me wrong, I love WS2. It does excatly what I want it to do except for the limatation of files. Thanx for all of your advice.

I'm afraid dvds hold 99 titles, but each title could hold 99 chapters, so you will have to arrange them in title/chapter sequences, or accept you'll never fill a dvd.
