Remote Selector and WinDVD Ver 8 & 9

Remote Selector used to be compatible with the earliers of WinDVD, but it is not compatible with either WinDVD 8 or WinDVD 9. Anybody has found a way to make this combination work or other ways to control WinDVD 8/9 with a universal remote control?
