VideoStudio Unspecified error. Report ID: 0x80004002(16386)

Post by videojaxx »

VideoStudio (version 11.5.0157.1 Plus) will not copy my unprotected DVDs on my Vista PC. Everytime I try to copy one of my 'homemade' DVDs using VideoStudio I get the following error: Unspecified error. Report ID: 0x80004002(16386). My DVDs play fine on my PC and in my DVD players. My neighbor also uses VideoStudio 11 Plus on his WinXP PC, so I asked him to copy several of the DVDs that would not copy on my machine and he had no problems making copies for me using his version of VideoStudio 11 Plus. So what am doing wrong on my Vista PC? Could this be a Vista compatibility bug?...please help :([/b]

From memory, version 11.5.0157.1 Plus has not been fully updated -- it still needs another patch, because -- again from memory -- the final number of the version should be 2. So look at the update patch page and identify the most recent patch and install it.

You follow the prompts in the Support tab on the corel.com page. But they VS11 updates are available on http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 8716781313 And I am pretty sure that the second last one is the one you are after. There used to be dates on the updates, but these seem to have disappeared. I think the last one is the one you have already installed to get the final 1. The Power Pack should give you the 2...

As for that error message, none of us here have ever known what any of them really mean... That is all internal code and known only to the Corel programmers...
