Moviefactory 4 lock up/freeze - I'm desperate for solution
I have been using Moviefactory 4 for a while with no problems until recently. When going to make a slideshow with audio it freezes at 81% finished in the top bar. The project duration counter countinues as though nothing wrong has happened. Cancel also has no affect and I have to reboot the computer to get out of it. Please note: I'm really desperate for a solution as I use it at work. Also, it only freezes up like this when adding an audio to the slideshow - BUT it always worked before until recently.
What format is your audio? MP3? Try converting your file to (uncompressed) WAV before importing it into Movie Factory. Also, it only freezes up like this when adding an audio to the slideshow - BUT it always worked before until recently.
The more compressed the format, the more likely you are to have trouble. This is true for both audio and video.

that isn't the problem...
I have been using WAV format for audio since last SUMMER and no problems - until now. I tried it with a short 18 photo/1 song project. It will work fine if I don't do the audio, but if I try to include the audio it locks up every time at exactly BUILDING DISC CONTENT 81% and VIDEO/AUDIO MULTIPLEXING 94%. I tried reinstalling the program - no help. Interesting, the ELAPSED TIME keeps chugging away and counting, and I nce let it continue for HOURS - no change; it still freezes up.
When frozen if I click on CANCEL the button dims but does not cancel anything - it keeps counting away. I have to close the program through control/alt/del and using windows task manager to end task
I am using a Gateway with XP - about 1.5 years old with plenty of available memory etc etc.
