I have Ulead VideoStudio 9 when I try to capture video with my Panasonic Highspeed video camera (AG-DVC30P), I get distortion lines and double images. I have used the software before without issue but they have changed the computer and cables. The last time I used an SVideo and now that cable is gone I only have a 1394. I am using this to troubleshoot high speed machines at work and am really stuck.

Welcome to the forums!
The AG-DVC30P was a nice camera in its day -- though I seem to recall that it did not have true 16:9 widescreen capacity... Anyway, as a mini DV camera, you *should* be using firewire to download video from the camera to your computer. I say 'download' since if you are also capturing in DV format in VS9 (which you should be, rather than in DVD-compatible mpeg-2), you are capturing in exactly the same properties as on the mini DV tape. VS9, moreover, did a good job in capturing DV so there is no obvious software reason why it should not be working now.
You could test whether it is VS9 or not which is creating the problem, by downloading a small freeware DV capture program called WinDV from windv.mourek.cz A number of us on this forum use it extensively and it does an excellent job with no dropped frames. Try that, and if you still get double images etc, then I would begin to suspect a hardware, rather than software, problem.
One final thought, what is the operating system (and other specs) of your computer?
