MF6 Plus, Can it burn AVCHD from Video Studio .vsp files?

Post by westlight »

I have Video Studio 11.5 Plus with all the updates. I've created a 35 minute video project, original video shot with a HD Canon HG-10.

Whenever I try to burn an AVCHD disk directly through VS11.5 the system crashes, and my system should be plenty beefy enough to handle this operation.

I have not tried MF6 but have seen a few post in the VS Forum about people using MF6 for their AVCHD projects.

1) Will MF6 recognize the VS11 project files (.vsp)?
2) Is MF6 different than the burn module in VS 11.5 Plus?

I've been able to create a mpeg2 file from the .vsp file then create my AVCHD disk from that mpeg, but cannot do it direct from the .vsp file. Thought perhaps MF6 could handle this task better? Any thoughts?

If you can create a avchd file with VS11 then it SHOULD be able to import to MF6 and not reencode. At least it does not reencode when I sometimes export from Vegas as avchd (at 15M with AC3 audio). It simply builds the folders and burns.

The recommended procedure IS to create an MPEG file first and not to use the VSP file in the authoring stages.

MovieFactory cannot open vsp (VideoStudio Project files].

I seem to hear different things regarding the procedure for burning HD- ACVHD disk. One saying make the mpeg2 file first. The others saying go directly to Share>Burn Disk>AVCHD. This direct method has failed me every time which has been very frustrating so I'll have to go with the mpeg2 procedure.

Glad you told me that MF6 will not open .vsp files. I've heard the opposite on that one as well.
