Waves, Waves and more Waves?

Post by joetg »

Does anybody have a good way to make it appear like the people you are filming are on a ship (obviously, without actually having a ship)? The only program I have is Media Studio Pro 7. Any good ways to do this? If not, what 3D software or particle software do I need?
Thanks, Joe TG 8)

Hi, if you want the people to "swing around" as if they were on a boat, the best bet I think would be to use a moving path. Problem is: you cannot rotate the video with moving path, as far as I know...

The "Advanced 2D" moving path allows for rotation.

The challenge is that moving paths don't support curved paths, so even when you rotate and move, each time you change direction at a keyframe, the motion will be "sharp" instead of "rolling". You may be ok if you add some extra keyframes near "turning points" to control a smoother direction change than normally supported by an MPS moving path.

If you use 7.2 or 7.3, the Pan and Zoom feature will allow you to have a smoother "rolling" path and will make it easier to apparently roll in three dimensions by zooming in and out slightly.
