VS11+ Same product, different price?

Post by Farzide »

Can anyone tell me the difference other than the price?
Seemingly the same product, same description, same merchant, $41 difference.
Cheaper one has an "A" tacked onto the end of the model number.

COREL VideoStudio 11 Plus - Retail Model #: VS11PLENGPCA
$66.99

COREL Ulead Video Studio 11 Plus - Retail Model #: VS11PLENGPC
$107.99

I'm tempted to pick this up now and go the upgrade route when VS12 comes out...

I strongly suspect the cheaper one is the "upgrade" version for people who have an existing qualifying version or product already.
Newegg hasn't seemed to have made that clear.

Perhaps you need to send an email to Newegg using their
online email form

Thanks sjj1805
but after a little Googling it appears that the A in the model number signifies that it is an academic license.
I still don't know what that would mean or how that would apply to me so I'll contact Newegg and see what they say.
Thanks again.
