More HD "Menu Templates" on Bonus Disk? VS11 Plus

Post by westlight »

I have not installed any of the "Bonus Disk" items that came with VS11 Plus yet. The one thing that I would like to install, which I thought I read in a Post at some point, are additional "Menu Templates" for HD DVD-Blu-Ray movies on that disk. I browsed though it but did not see anything obvious.

I don't like to install a bunch of stuff that I will never use and wanted to make sure that there were in fact additional HD menus.

Thanks!

IIRC, any menu templates are installed with the main program. To access them you would need to select Blu-Ray in the Share>Create Disc menu option. Then the burn module will provide only the templates that are for HD or Blu-Ray.

Thanks Videoman

Not sure what IIRC refers too. There were only a few menu templates for HD/Blu_Ray. Again, I thought I had read a previous post, which I can no-longer find, that stated that extra menu templates for HD were on the "Bonus" disk. Apparently not. Too bad there's such a very limited selection.

westlight,

IIRC - if I recall correctly.

That being said, IIRC the Ulead site said that some more menus come with 11.5 update.

I checked my copy which has the 11.5 updates and can find 6.
These apply to AVCHD / HD and Blue Ray formats.
Image

You can always make some from scratch

Alternatively if you select the EDIT Tab then you can select various layouts.
NOTE:
If you select a Smartscene template you will only be able to alter the buttons.
If you select a Text only template you can alter the buttons and layout.
If you select a thumbnail template you can alter the buttons, layout and frames.

EDIT
In fact I should be able to convert several of the SD templates in next to no time - I will post a link a bit later on.

Guess I haven't ventured too deeply into various ways of editing the menus beyond the obvious. Been too frustrated with trying to get my previous "less than adequate" PC to work with AVCHD files. Hopefully the new system will improve that a bit.

Thanks for the info!

Here is a link to the converted templates, in addition I have corrected an error with templates HDBasic_05 and HDBasic_06 where the word Title was incorrectly shown as Tilte.

HDMenus1.zip
HDMenus2.zip
HDMenus3.zip

Thanks Steve. However, I am having trouble accessing your links. With the first one, I am taken to the Driveway site which asks me to establish an account. Nothing on the page gives any link to your download.

When I try the other two, they ask if I want to download the .zip files, but when I say OK, I then get an error message saying they are unreadable because they have a ***.zip.tgz extension...

And when I use my Download manager, they download and only show a .zip extension. But when I try to open them, I get an "unknown format or corrupt file" message.

Oh dear.... I will have to try again.
I took a couple of hours to convert the menus but I then spent several hours trying to upload them onto driveway - every time i got to 100% I got an error and eventually split the one large zip file into 3 smaller ones and driveway accepted them.

The links work for me but that might be because I am logged into the account. I will investigate further and get this fixed.

Thanks Steve. Already doing file 1. They have good download speed too. I might sign up for an account anyway!

By the way, what folder did you store them in so that VS11.5+ can read them?

I saved the "Full path" in the zip files, simply extract to "c" and make sure that you "Include folder names"

I have been looking at your downloads and confess to no little confusion! I can find no "new" full templates to add to the HDBasic existing 6. File 1 contains the corrections you mentioned to HDBasic 5 and 6, and also in the OneScene Button sub-folder for those two templates. File 2 contains the corrections to the Scene Buttons for the same two templates. And File contains the corrections for the Text Buttons for the same two templates.

But nothing else...

I must be missing something here, but cannot think what...

Hello Steve

Many thanks for the menus! I've only copied some of them over to Ulead and am trying, once again to burn the AVCHD project. I'm using one of the templates you created and only a 2 minute segment of the original 37 minute video to see if all burns correctly. At least I know the HD menu options have been greatly expanded.

Well done!
