Video Studio 8 Show thumbnail number won't turn off.

Post by pmwitt »

Using Video studio 8 while on Create Disk Window, there is a check box for "show thumbnail number" for menu thumbnails. Although I do not check this box, there is nevertheless a thumbnail number next to each thumbnail. I have made hundreds of dvd's over a considerable period on different computers as my principle computer got replaced or updated. This problem did not exist at first, then came on intermittently. By now I cannot make any dvds without thumbnail numbers.
I capture s-video with an ATI Theater 550 Pro Pci Tuner and transfer these 2 Gb files over my local Gb network to my processing computer where I edit and compress the video as necessary. One recent project has from the project properties window;
File size 30 Kb
Version 8.0
Duration 1:04 (no compression needed here)
Edit file format MPEG files
NTSC drop frame 29.97 fps
MPEG files
24 bits 720x480 29.97 fps
Upper field first
(DVD-NTSC) 4:3
Video data rate 8000 Kbps variable
Audio data rate 384 Kbps
MPEG audio layer 2, 48 KHz Stereo
quality 100
* perform non square pixel rendering :?

pmwitt,

Look here C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\8.0 for this file:

DVDMFEnc.ini

Open it and look for this line:

ShowThumbnailNumber=1

Change the 1 to a 0, so that you have

ShowThumbnailNumber=0

Save and open VS and test making a DVD and just go far enough to verify that this worked for you.

Also non-square pixel rendering is correct, because TVs use more of a rectangular pixel.
