Failed to load template
I have just downloaded upgrade VS9.0. I have read several posts on here that says that is a bad idea, so I already know. I have edited my project and am in the share mode. I have created my chapter points and click on next to go to the menu page. When I do this, I get a message that says failed to load template. The template does show up with the opening scene in 1 box. There are no other pictures of links to the other chapters. I have used VS7 and 8. There is a main menu and there are supposed to be sub-menu's. I am not getting he sub menu's. The chapters have been created and did "take" b/c when I go "back" I see them.
PS. If I do not have any chapters created I do not get the error.
Thanks for any help. BTW, how do I download other templates, etc. I imagine they are in the extra "download stuff." Thanks again.

Cannot load template folder
What worked for me:
When choosing a menu template click "Customise". Under "Layout" pick the layout with the number of thumbnails you want. Now click on the box "Add to menu template". That should solve it.

I called and they made the suggestion to go to the smart download and get all of the extras. To do this - go to Tools - then smart download. There was like 600 megs of stuff I didn't have.
It didn't fix the template load issue though - I'll call again. Even though it said the template failed to load - it appears that I could still use it for the main screen. The only time the error appears is when I add/edit chapters - if I don't do that the error message doesn't appear.

Just an update. I did get the problem resolved. You must download all the extra content "run", "execute" them. After I did this, the error never came back. Ulead should warn you that you MUST download this extra content to get the template to load properly when you have created chapters for the video. The extra download content seemed "optional" to me.

I have the same problem, however, I am using the trial version and am unable to download any of the "updates" because of my non-paying status. Anybody know if this will work in another fashion? I am testing between this and some other software (pinnacle and adobe) and will not buy if I think options won't work.

I have not had any problems with this since I downloaded and installed the extra software. I have used pinnacles(sp) older version of software about 3 years ago and I changed to ulead's at the same time because it worked alot better and seemed to allow you to have more control. I don't know if that is still true today b/c I have used ulead's vs ever since. Ulead's software seems to be more powerful...I have not tried Adobe's stuff...that's my two cents worth. The options work, again after you download and install the extra software.

Uninstall and reinstall...If that does not work, call ulead tech support and tell them your problem. Tell the support person to give you another clean download from an FTP site. That is what I finally had to do. The reinstall and new download did not work until I downloaded AND installed the extra software. Then it worked fine. You will need to completely and I mean completely uninstall your software and get a good clean install.
If that does not work, then call them and tell them to mail you a hard copy of the program.
