Good Morning.
I have ULEAD10 as a package with EASYCAP. I am attempting a compilation of documentries to one DL disc and have no problems until the burning stage.
It seems that after all the converting and just prior to burning it comes up with the following message.
Some chapter entry frame numbers exceed the total frames
533:214 721 6477:0 and then ok.
I thought that after hitting OK it may continue to burn with some errors I may find out later but not sure what to do from here as it just remains at the burn menu.
Can anyone suggest if I need to adjust a setting or could one of the files be corrupt. The final output is in PAL and some of the files are in NTSC?
Any suggestions would ne most appreciated.
Anthony

scoop1966,
It looks to me that the culprit is your using NTSC source video, which uses 29.97 fps, whereas PAL uses 25 fps. That's why you're getting the "Some chapter entry frame numbers exceed the total frames." You might want to try to render your NTSC source video(s) to PAL first, then use the rendered files in your project.

Quite apart from the chapter entry frame number problem, you also need to be aware that no consumer level video editing program can be expected to do a good job of converting NTSC to PAL or vice versa. If you think about it, NTSC not only uses a speed of 29.97 fps, it also has a different frame size: 720 x 480 as opposed to PAL's 720 x 576. So in converting NTSC to PAL, for instance, the editing program will have to strip out nearly 5 frames per second and 96 pixels off the sides. The resulting video may appear as being a bit jerky, particularly if the video includes action scenes... Going the other way, from PAL to NTSC, the program has to invent nearly 5 frames per second out of thin air and it does this by repeating existing frames. It also has to invent 96 pixels out of thin air and does this by cloning some existing pixels. The result will again appear a bit jerky, and a bit fuzzy into the bargain...
There are programs out there dedicated to such conversions, such as Canopus ProCoder which in fact does a very good job. But unfortunately they cost big $$$...
