VideoStudio 7 no audio in DVD

Post by Buddy Stansbury »

I've been using VS 7 for more than a year and found it to do everything I needed. I've made dozens of movies without any problem. Now when I edit a movie and then share it, everything goes as normal to create a DVD and Video folders but the finished result has no audio. The original AVI files plays fine with audio. The ~convert.mpg file plays but also has no audio.

The only thing I know I did on my system was to delete Norton Systemworks and all the files. I've tried to totally reinstall all of VS 7 and the VS7 patch file. The program seems to run fine but still no audio.
As I finish the create video file step and play the project, the audio is there and plays fine. I also see that somehow "Realplayer" is listed under >accessories>entertainment>RealPlayer,... as the only audio recorder. I don't know how this happened,.. maybe I should try re-install Windows XP. I'm at SP-1 and have not installed SP-2 yet.

Can someone give me a suggestion on where to look at my system and see what is corupted. Thanks in advance.

I can't resolve your problem, but hearing about RealPlayer drives me crazy! That's one of the nosiest players around, horning in and trying to become 'number one' and 'default' when you sometimes don't even realize it's there.
