Muting or removing audio

Post by spudgun »

Gentlreman, (and ladies).
I would greatly appreciate any help with the problem I am experiencing. I have some great footage but quite appalling audio; wind noise, unwanted voices, etc. Can I completely remove the audio from my video, enablimg me to overlay a seperate audio track?
Kind regrads and many thanks.

spudgun,

You can mute your video's audio without having to remove it. Simply click on the little icon that looks like a speaker with an X through it. It's on the Video tab (that's under the gallery of video thumbnails).

Also, Audacity is a freeware program that has an excellent noise reducing filter. It won't work magic, but can improve your audio quite a bit. It's especially useful if you're going to add background music as that'll hide some of the remaining noise.

Hi, Ronald, and many thanks for your assistance. Pretty simple really, when you look harder! Alas, I do have Audacity, but rest assured that the noise, speech and interference that I have captured is entirely unwanted.
Best wishes friend,
