Erease Subtitels

Post by Michiel1988 »

Hi all,

I have a little question. I'm making AMV's (Anime Music video's) but I don't know how to get rid of the subtitels easily.

Maybe someone knows if there is an option you can enable that subtitels automaticly will dissapear. I looked for ages (maybe still not good enough), but can't seem to find a single option that get's rid of them.

The videos I use are mpeg, but when you watch them on realplayer or somthing you also have the option to enable or disable those videos so I thought it might be possible with MSP 8 as well.

If not then please tell me as well so I can stop looking and just find alternative ways to disable them.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Mike

That depends. You can only disable subtitles if they are in a separate stream to the video. If they are embedded in the video as part of the picture, then there is no way to get rid of them.

What is the original source of the movies? DVD?
Some DVD ripping software allows you to rip with or without subtitles.

As far as I know, there is nowhere in MSP to turn off a subtitle stream.

You could try logo suppressors, but you would have to treat each sub-t separately (split the sequence). I tried it once, several years ago: the Télévision Suisse Romande did a programme about MS, which a patient taped. I was asked to do DVDs from the tape and got permission from the TSR. At the time, their logo was bright white and very distracting (a few years ago, they toned it down into a transparent mid-grey). I tried to suppress it using several different freebie proggies to do so. None of them were successful but I was able to use one to to make it less distracting. They may have improved since. May be worth the try?????

Ah ok thx. I try logo suppressor then. Better something than nothing. If that doesn't work I'll just have to figure another way to get rid of them somehow.

Atleast I can stop searching for that option now.

Thanks for your suggestions and time.

you could always crop the picture down. If your final video is for youtube or similar, you wont notice the lower resolution.
