Had PI installed, operated without problems from PI 3 upgraded over the years to 11. Lately began getting error message "another user is using this application" after I close PI, then attempt to reopen it. Reboot, and I can open PI. Problem reoccurs if I then close PI and try to reopen. Went through this cycle many times with no success. Upgraded to TBYB X3. Same problem. Running on a Pentium 4, 3 GB RAM, lots of disc space, etc, with Windows XP Home. Have uninstalled/reinstalled PI by Corel instructions twice, made sure I had the latest DirecX version, ran Registry Booster to clean registry, disable the Norton 360 AV/firewall program while installing, but running otherwise. Problem looks like a Windows issue, but a search of the Microsoft Knowledge file gives no hint. Again, issue is only with PI. Can not link the issue with installation of any other program, although the many automatic upgrades makes that impossible to confirm.
Any suggestions?
X3 will not restart after first use

Firstly make sure you are not double clicking the startup icon too many times and so trying to open more than one instance of the program.
Rather than restarting your computer try the "3 finger salute"
Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up Windows Task Manager then check the Processes Tab to see if Iedit.exe is running - if so click it to select it and then click the [End Process] button.
Alternatively download a copy of EndItAll which performs a similar task to that which I just described.
You can also try adding the following to the Windows Registry
Unload dll tweak
