VS8 running slow

Post by Alefan »

Hello!!!

I'am still running VS8. I am running on a 3 gig p4 2 gigs of ram on XP Pro sp2
Abit max 3 mb, cant recall the vid card. SB audio card.
for some reason VS is now running really slow, and by that I mean just loading a video from one drive into the program is slow, and then just trying to move the mouse around the program is really slow, then never mind trying to edit it. It just starting doing it this week.
Ive got about 400 gigs of College Football games I want to edit and store
on DVD's. My process is VS to DVD shrink to Divx. Hope that is all you need for info thanks in advance.

Why?
If you are creating DivX videos for sharing on the internet then render from VideoStudio directly to DivX.
VS: Encoding in DivX format using Video Studio

If your computer has recently begun to slow down then perhaps you need to do some housekeeping on it such as de fragmenting your hard drive(s) and removing any unnecessary programs from your system. One major culprit for slowing down computers is Google Desktop Search. I have discovered this one several times on various computers belonging to friends and family - the computer crawls along like a snail, get rid of Google desktop search and it springs back to life.

You might also consider Creating a Video Editing Profile.

Hello,
thanks for the reply. Basically because I want to shrink the file to as small as possible for storeage. I'll do a defrag, I also run end it all and smartclose, so usually I'am running like 19-20 programs at any one time.
