Viewing HD Folder using WinDVD 9 Plus Blu-ray

Ok so I don't have a blu-ray player but figured I'd burn either blu-ray or hd-dvd folders onto my hard drive and view them.

Then I realized I would need newer dvd software to be able to view these formats so I purchased WinDVD 9 Plus Blu-ray. But I can't get it to read either my blu-ray folder or my hd-dvd folder from my hard drive (that was created via VideoStudio 11). Can anyone help me?

I'm pretty sure that the AACS made this behaviour illegal.

There were complaints when playing Blu ray/HD-DVD content from HDD was pulled from Corel's direct competitors product. So I guess the same is true for WinDVD9+BR.
