Hi house,
Is there any possibility of having more than 6 video tracks in VS10?
Thanks in advance.

- processor: 3.40 gigahertz Intel Core i7-4770
- ram: 16GB
- Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 645
- sound_card: NVIDIA High Definition Audio
- Hard_Drive_Capacity: 4TB
- Monitor/Display Make & Model: 1-HP 27" IPS, 1-Sanyo 21" TV/Monitor

The workaround would be to use "nested VSP" files.
In Project 1 have your 6 overlay tracks filled with images, video clips, ect. Then save that project. Start a new project, then use Insert Video, locate Project 1 and insert it to one of the tracks in your new project (2). You can continue to do this, however I'm not sure just how deep you can go without VS finally say.."Alright already, enough is enough!!" and falling over..

Banji,
To tag onto vidoman's comments. This is what I like to call my secret powertip (well it's not really mine, it belongs to VS
). You can do a lot of neat tricks with this tip, like extra video tracks. Just remember that your system has a finite amount of memory, and video editing pretty much pushes the limits of your system as it is. You may find that rendering to a video file may be more helpful depending on how complex your project is. Also, while you can import vsp files into a project you cannot "nest" vsp files. In other words, you can't create a vsp file and insert it into a new project and then save this new vsp file and insert it into a new project. (My head's spinning just reading my explanation, so I hope it's clear as mud!
)

Thanks for this. Whao! You are too much.vidoman wrote:The workaround would be to use "nested VSP" files.

However, will I need to save the first project as a rendered video file, Or leave it as unrendered .vsp?

tagging along again... since I like keyboard shortcuts, when you're done with your first project:
Press CTRL+S to name and save the project (by pressing the ENTER key since Save is already highlighted), then
Press CTRL+N to start a new project!
I find this a bit faster than scrolling around with the mouse since you're going to be typing the filename anyway. My motto is "When at the keyboard, stay at the keyboard."
