NTSC to PAL
I am interested in converting a video I made in the NTSC format to PAL for a friend of mine in India. Is this possible or do I have to begin from scratch with the original files using the PAL format? When I think about it, it sounds like I will have to start from scratch. Any help would be welcome!

1. If the output is DVD (why didn't you tell us?) then just send him the NTSC one. PAL machines can read them.
2. If the input is DV (why didn't you tell us?), then take your final project DV AVI onto your timeline with your settings/properties set to the corresponding NTSC and make a new DV AVI.

There is a tutorial on the subject at the link below that explains all the details however it is now a bit of a relic because most PAL DVD players will handle an NTSC DVD. In fact these days many NTSC DVD players will handle PAL.
As Devil pointed out we can only assume what you original format is and what your final format will be but the tutorial will give you the idea.

Thanks to all for your input. I failed to mention that my original was in DVD format
. My bad!!! I too assumed that PAL machines would read it; however, my friend says she has tried to use NTSC in her machines before and they wouldn't or didn't play. It must be an older model. Nonetheless, I will attempt to make it over from scratch to avoid any possible compatibility problems. I was hoping for a shortcut somewhere in all of this.
I will check out the link suggested and see what I can come up with. It is her son's graduation and she won't be coming to the USA anytime soon. Thanks again to all. I always get great direction from this forum.
Peace.

Hi DBZ
Try rendering the completed Ntsc video to Pal.
First use Make Movie Manager-Add function to create a template of the Ntsc video.
Edit the template changing the :-
Compression to Pal-DVD
the Audio to Digital Dolby
Save the template.
With the Ntcs video in the timeline Share-Create Video File ¡V select your template.

Thanks Trevor. I will give it a try and see what happens. I mean what's the worst that could happen other than having to do it from scratch. Man you guys are really cool to continue to offer assistance with projects. Corel should hire some of you guys as online tech specialists for their products. I mean, your advice has always been superior to what I usually get when I contact them.
Thanks again.
