VS 11: Video & Voice out of Sync

Post by AnimatedStar »

Are you using the trial version of VS11? If so, and the DVD used Dolby audio, your VS trial will not play Dolby audio because of licensing reasons.

I'm sorry, I misread your post.

Some people have this problem when editing MPEGs. A general fix is to turn off SmartRender.

Thanks Black Lab! Maybe someone else has had the same issue and can provide a fix suggestion.
I love VS it's so easy to use but I've had so may problems with it. I never had any issues when I was using Ver 9.

Can you right click on the file in Video Studio (library pane or timeline) and check its Properties. What audio format is it using? I know Nero, for instance, uses the LameMP3 codec a lot. And Video Studio has trouble with the LameMP3 codec in particular... If that is the case, you might need to check in Nero if you can select standard LPCM as the audio.

Mind you, if it were just a straight rip from the DVD, with no conversion involved, it should have been either standard LPCM, Dolby or mpeg-layer 2 (since VS can't deal with DTS per se as I understand it). :?:
