I have been using the ADS Instant DVD 2.0 capture device with VideoStudio 7 to convert analog video to DVD. The combination has worked flawlesly for 4 years. Suddenly, the video gets ahead of the audio during the rendering process. (I have verified that the captured mpeg file is synchronized.) Any idea whether the problem lies with the PC environment or with the VideoStudio software and whether upgrading to VideoStudio 11 would resolved the problem? (Note, I have automatic Windows updates enabled.)
thanks.
Video and audio not synchronized during rendering.

If it has worked flawlessly for 4 years and suddenly you are having problems then either
1. Your video file is corrupted in some way
or
2. Those darned Windows Updates have affected your system.
If you have Windows System Restore turned on then try turning the clock back to a time/date when you did not have this problem, that will at least help eliminate that issue. Have you installed or removed any other software or hardware recently. Have you defragmented your hard drive(s).
Try using a different video file to see if you still have the problem, if you still have an earlier video file that worked previously then that would be a good one to use as a test file.
