Record edited clips too Canon HG 10 then playback on HDTV?

I can't believe I'm back already - getting to be a bit of a bore.

I just played from the camcorder to the HDTV. The video was awesome! But the audio was distorted. The transients in the music were clipped as if the camera just couldn't keep up with processing the data stream. It seemed even worse when there was a photo image on the overlay track. The quality sort of came and went. I wonder if I were to render to a lower bit rate whether it would work better.

Here's the clinker - WinDVD plays the same file with perfect audio from the computer - smooth and great sound. But when it goes back to the camera, the sound gets distorted. I welcome suggestions.....

Here is what my "project pref. settings are, and the order in which I selected them.

Project pref>Edit>Compression>Mpeg2> Quality 100%
Video Date rate+ Variable @ 16,000
Audio type= Stereo
Audio freq. 48,000
Audi bit rate= 256 fps

Then I went to the General tab.
Data track= Audio & Video
Frame rate 29.97
Frame type= Upper field first
Frame size= 1440x1080 (Upper field first switches to Lower field so switch it back to upper field.

Did all my editing, which was a lot then I created the ACVHD file.

Share>Create File> ACVHD I selected the H264 (1440x1080) option. There are no options for switching anything else, ie. audio bit rate.

That's what I remember. Glad to hear you at least got the video part running. Let me know if any of these settings work. I just right clicked on one of the original video files and got these settings out of the properties window. I may run another test once I get home on a short clip to see if I'm forgetting anything.

Thank you very much for providing your settings. Mine are the same except I think the audio bit rate was 386 (or something similar). I'll check. I'm also going to check to get the exact specs of the file that is imported from the camera. Then I'll render to that spec to go back. It seems to me that I am giving the camera more data than it can uncompress and I have to lighten the load....or something.
The fact that the file plays fine on the computer makes me think that Canon is very particular about every aspect of its files and you have to know them. We are closing in on it. I am very pleased to have gotten as far as I have. The video is breathtaking.

I have also noticed this problem. One additional piece of info:
it has nothing to do with editing the video. The same thing occurs
when you simply use GuideMenu to transfer a video to the PC and
then immediately send it back to the HG10. The problem appears
to be with GuideMenu. I have not found any GuideMenu updates.
