DVD authoring help - green user

Would someone kindly enligten me as to the simplest way to start the Disc authoring process after editing.
I mean, should I create video file in editor, then close the program and start the Disc authoring program and locate the video file and open it.?
In video Editor, for example there is an export option ( to disc Authoring)which I tried but it prompted me to select a video file. It doesnt seem like like Im exporting anything .
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you for your patience.

This is a two stage process, with several ways to go about it. I think the simplest way is possibly to Create a DVD-compliant MPEG-2 file from the timeline (p.241 of your manual) and then to open DVDMF (p.376), importing your mpg file. If you follow the manual, it's not difficult.
