Can I speed up "Transition Effect"?

Post by Eytan »

I'm using DVD MovieFactory v6.0 to crate Slideshow project. I wish to use the "Fade in/out" transition Effect but to speed up it.

Currently all effects are 2 sec long and I wish to speed it to 1 sec.

Is it possible? If it is, how can I do it.

Thx.

Thanks sjj1806 for your reply.

I also thought that this is the place where I can control the "Transition Effect" but it doesn't :!:

I don't know if this is a bug or it control other effect but I do know that it doesn't speed up the "Transition Effect". Moreover it even doesn't slow down the effect when I changed it to 3 sec or more. The effect time is remain 2 sec. :(

Does someone know if this is a bug (that has a patch that fix it) or the answer can be found elsewhere.

Thx

I have the same question...

Is this just a problem with MovieFactory? Seems like a other version has an option that works( read about it in another thread)-- also can you control transitions all at once?

The duration of the transitions needs to be shorter than the duration of the slides. If your slides last 3 seconds and the transitions last 3 seconds - you would not see any transitions!

Try setting the slides to 6 seconds and then the transitions to 2 seconds.
Now preview it.
Now alter the timings - perhaps make the transitions 1 second.

Seems like it should be straight forward, but I have changed the preferences to 15 seconds and I still see a 2-3 second slide. Do i have to change the preferences at the beginning of the project? That would be annoying.. if you are overlaying sound because the program should have the ability to adjust the pictures and the sound in the middle of the project.. (no?)

You have to set the preferences BEFORE you add the clips to the time line, otherwise you have to go through each one at a time and alter them manually.

This is very helpful. I get it now. I just found out how to alter the time of the snap shots... It seems really easy now... but I over looked the Movie reel symbol up top. I expected to right click and have the option there.

Great. Thanks
