VS8 and Vista

Post by tonyjer »

Hi Ken et al

Tried the workaround that involved running VS8 in XP compatibility mode. Unfortunately still get the same message about unable to capture etc.

Could it be that I now have to dwonload a patch that makes VS8 compatible with XP?

Thanks for your help.

Have you installed any of the patches for VS8? If not you do need to do that. http://www.ulead.com/tech/phasedout.htm

VS8 and Vista

Post by tonyjer »

Hi

Do I need all of em? (aside from the one for SE and bundled versions only?) Its just that the updates listed for VS8 don't seem to be Windows version specific.

I used to have ME before the new PC with Vista and seemed to survive without these patches.

Thanks for your help

VS 12 should be out any day now, I would just wait then upgrade.

Video Studio 8 isn't compatible with Vista. The only old XP programs that had patches for Vista were Video Studio 10 and Movie Factory 5.
