Hi everyone
Is it possible to use smart-rendering on a DivX file during the create video file stage?
If so, how do you do it? The only options appear to be configuration of the DivX codec, which won't enable smart-rendering on their own.
Thanks

Yes you should be able to. The Project Properties must match that of the video clip(s). The container for DivX is AVI. So in setting up your Project Properties, using AVI, then pressing the Edit button, go to the various tabs, and set the attributes to match that of the video clip(s), such as frame size, frame rate, and audio codec.
When you go to create your video file, you should have the option to select, either Same as Project Properties, or Same as First Video. Press the Options button, and the Perform Smart Render option is available.
The question is will VS really smart render using the DivX codec???? No I don't think so. I ran a quick test using a DivX file, and only made 1 small change, cutting and adding a transition. Even though all the properties matched, and selecting either of the 'Same As' options, VS rendered the entire clip..
