Grayed out options - why?

Post by Pinion »

I'm trying to combine 3 of my 8cm avchd dvds into one 4.38gb standard size dvd+r. However, 3 of them won't fit on one disc according to visual studio. Ok then, I'd like to output to my hd and see how big it actually is and possibly burn it with something else. But the option is grayed out. Why? How do I fix that? Thanks

The image below is just to illustrate that I don't have any option but to burn to disc, I don't have all my files added.

Pinion,

Choose Create Video File -> AVCHD to create the file on your HD.

I checked on a couple of my computers and confirm it remains greyed out.
Perhaps this is normal and the ability to burn AVCHD folders is not available.

I checked the various formats to see which do and which do not include the burn to folder option.

AVCHD - no
HD DVD - yes
Blue Ray - folders yes - image no
DVD - yes
VCD - folders no - image yes
SVCD - folders no - image yes

Thanks for checking sjj1805, much appreciated. Guess I'll have to check out some other software for this particular task.

@rguthrie - that's close to what I want to do, but I had already found that. I was hoping it would output the files with the right folder structure and chapters I had added etc.

Pinion,

I know there are DVD rippers available, perhaps there's some for AVCHD as well, search VideoHelp.com. If so, you could easily use the ripper (after you've created your first disc) to create the folders.
