Most likely you have to capture your video using the Firewire 1394 connection to capture video. You might also be able to transfer the video via the USB cable.

Read the manual to see how it tells you how to transfer the video to your computer.

Hello tyamada,

Thank you for your answer.
But the manual of the camcorder doesn't say anything about it.
Only how to burn to a dvd with their own software.

And with the camcorder there is only a usb-cable.

Hello Tyamada,

yes, that works.
Only webstudio can't find the camcorder.

You have to transfer the video in the camera's hard drive to your pc, then you can edit the video.

Video Studio won't recognize the camera as a capture device unless you use a Firwire cable. I am currently downloading your instruction manual, will get back to you.

I just looked through the software guide for your camera, it explains how to backup your video file to your pc. Follow the instructions to copy the video to your pc and use Video Studio to edit your video.
Here is a link to the software guide, its on the left at the top.

Hello,

Sorry,

I have one question on this matter.
I bought myself a firewire cable but in studio i get the same error-message as before.

Anyone a idea what went wrong ?

Do you have a iLink(Firewire) card in your computer?
Most computers don't come with a Firewire port installed.
You also have to put the camera on the supplied docking station and hook up the dock to the firewire cable and the PC. When you turn on the camera you should see the PC found new hardware and is installing the software to support it.

If installed properly the device manager should show some type of camcorder.
